There was an interesting article on Techcrunch the other day that, in hindsight, shouldn’t have been so surprising. The big news they unveiled was that 89% of app downloads in 2012 will be free apps, and 90% of the remaining 11% will cost under $3. Ok, that was a lot of math and percentages. Basically what it said was that people love free and cheap stuff and it won’t change. In fact, the article also said that by 2016 the free app downloads will have increased to 93%, if not higher.
