How Handset Detection Works

We provide 3 options for device detection and mobile website redirection. Those options are javascript redirection, web service and database download.

Javascript Redirection

Javascript redirection sounds technical, but in actual fact its super simple. Head into the Sites section (signup required), tick a box, fill in a few fields, copy and paste the result into your web page. Job done! You'll be up and running in minutes.

Web Service

Use premade API Kits to get real time device information. API Kits interface with our web service to get real time device information. Most of the heavy lifting is done for you with API kits. Some knowledge of your server setup or a scripting language is helpful.

Database Download

If you're technically minded and running a super high volume website or just dont like the idea of relying on a web service then download our device database and do whatever you need.
