Mobile News You May Have Missed this Week – 8/17/12

Once in a while a blog or media outlet will post a little blurb about this newfangled “mobile technology” stuff. We kid! There are hundreds of important, interesting, fun and just plain cool mobile stories out there every day. Since mobile is our wheelhouse at Handset Detection, we thought we’d make it a point to round up the ones you don’t want to miss. Check back every Friday for the weekly roundup!

1. A Swedish Design Firm Screws Us All

Okay, so what they did is demonstrate how easy it is to start an Apple Rumor by releasing a bogus picture of an asymmetrical screw on Reddit. So how long does it take to start a false rumor? Read on and find out.

2. Nokia & Samsung Locked in Epic Struggle

It’s no secret that we love Twitter, so we were tickled to see that Nokia slung an insult at Samsung’s mama. (Well, they basically said that the next gen Nokia Lumia can beat up the Samsung Galaxy Note.) Are we going to see these two on Epic Rap Battles of History next?

3. Apple’s Lawyer Smoking Crack

At least according to the judge in the Apple v. Samsung  patent war. It is nice to see someone stand up for Samsung after Nokia’s dastardly Twitter attack. (See #2.)
