What are the affiliate payment percentages ?

There are two types of affiliates, referrers and developers. Referrers earn 25% of any subscriber payments. Developers also earn 25% of any subscriber payments (if the subscriber is using their software). You can both refer someone and build software that they use, which combined is 50% of the subscriber payment.

When do I get paid ?

Affiliate payments are made on the first monday of each month, for payments made two months prior. For example, someone you refer joins and subscribes in January, you receive your affiliate payment on the first Monday in March. Payments are always made on the first monday of the month. Balances are paid out once your affiliate payments exceed USD$20. Dont worry if you don't make $20 in a month, it'll carry forward to next month.

How do I get paid ?

Affiliate payments are made via paypal. You'll need to supply your paypal username in the Affiliate section of your Profile to get paid. You can track conversions and other details from the affilate pages as well.

Is there a minimum threshold to get paid ?

Balances are paid out once your affiliate payments exceed USD$20. Dont worry if you don't make $20 in a month, it'll carry forward to next month.

Can I externally track the number of people I have referred ?

Yes ! If you have referral tracking software or a thank you page then add &p=<url> to the end of your handset detection affiliate link. Our affiliate system will set an affiliate cookie on your referral's computer and forward them back to the url. Note : your url should have 'http://' at the start.

Can I referr myself ?

You cannot earn credit for referring yourself. Yes, we keep an eye on it.

How are developer payments calculated ?

Version 2.0 apikeys identify a piece software. You can generate as many api keys as you need. There's no practical limit but dont go silly with it. You get an affiliate payment based on the subscribers using Handset Detection through your software. If you also sign people up from a referral link in your software then you can get that referral payment as well.

How are developer payments calculated when multiple api-kits, plugins or extensions are used ?

If a paying subscriber uses multiple api-kits, plugins or extensions then the Developer affiliate payments are pro-rated over the customers subscription month. For example, a paying subscriber uses Bill's plugin, but part way through the month after doing 40000 detections switches to Ted's software and does a further 60000 detections for the rest of the month. The 25% cut is split - 40% goes to Bill and 60% goes to Ted.

Whats the deal with the 3 paying subscriber minimum for developer affiliates ?

Its an effort to limit development to legit developers rather than people that might take the great work of others and change the API key for a one off purpose (rather than contributing back to the community).

SPAM & Abuse

If you SPAM in our name we will have no hesitation in cancelling your account. If you receive spam then please forward the spam to us and we'll deal with it.

How long do affiliate payments continue for ?

There is no payment cut off. If you continue to meet the Terms of Service and observe the Anti Spamming Policy then payments will continue indefinetley.

How do I get my plugin listed in the plugins page ?

Mail in a blurb and a link and we'll put it up there.

Anything else I should know ?

You must adhere to our Terms of Service Agreement and Anti Spamming policy. If you spam, spam in our name, or do anything at all in relation to Handset Detection and spam then we will have no hesitation in cancelling your account and your affiliate payments now and into the future.
